Welcome to the newest section of the Put It On Ice Blog. I have always been interested in collecting hockey cards and began collecting at a very young age. However, it wasn’t until about 2001 or 2002 that I really started to buy certain cards in an attempt to grow my collection. I got away from collecting for a few years but in July of 2011 I randomly got back into it again, and I dove in head first.
My favorite player has been Patrick Roy for as long as I can remember, and his cards are the ones that I am really after. The thrill and excitement of trying to find cards not in my collection has led to hours upon hours of searching online. I purchased somewhere in the range of fifteen Roy cards in just the first month since resuming my collecting ways. That might seem like a low number, but I found some really great cards valued around $35.00 to $40.00 for a joint price of about half off the book value.
I have also recently decided to pursue Colorado Avalanche team sets which are surprisingly harder to find than I had expected. When I say team set I am referring to all Colorado Avalanche players within a certain set of cards. For example, the 2003-04 Beehive set has ten Avalanche players. I have the complete 2003-04 Colorado Avalanche team set. As of now I’m focusing on the base set and not trying to get every insert of an Avalanche player for that set, but that could change in the future.

I will also be adding a list of cards that I am interested in buying sometime in the near future. Any cards marked N/A for book value represent cards that I was not able to find a value for online. I used www.beckett.com to find the book value of my collection.
